Classic Milk Bubble Tea

“Classic Milk Bubble Tea” also known as “Pearl Milk Tea” or “Boba Milk Tea.” It’s a popular and refreshing beverage enjoyed in many parts of the world.

Ingredients:

For the Tapioca Pearls (Boba):
1. 1/2 cup dried black tapioca pearls
2. Water for boiling
3. 1/2 cup brown sugar
4. 1/4 cup water

For the Tea:
1. 2-3 black tea bags or loose-leaf black tea (you can use your preferred tea variety)
2. 1 cup hot water
3. 2 tablespoons sugar (adjust to taste)
4. 1 cup ice cubes

For the Milk Tea:
1. 1/2 cup milk (you can use regular milk or non-dairy milk like almond or soy)
2. 2 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk (adjust to taste)

Instructions:

Preparing Tapioca Pearls (Boba):
1. Boil the tapioca pearls: Follow the package instructions to boil the tapioca pearls until they are soft and chewy. This typically takes about 20-30 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
2. Make a sugar syrup: In a separate saucepan, combine brown sugar and water. Heat over low heat until the sugar dissolves completely. Let it cool.
3. Rinse and coat the tapioca pearls: Drain the cooked tapioca pearls and rinse them with cold water. Transfer them to a bowl and pour the sugar syrup over them. Toss to coat the pearls evenly. Let them sit for a few minutes to absorb the flavour.

Preparing the Tea:
1. Brew the tea: Steep the black tea bags or loose-leaf black tea in 1 cup of hot water for about 5 minutes. Remove the tea bags or strain the loose-leaf tea.
2. Sweeten the tea: While the tea is still warm, add sugar and stir until it dissolves. Allow the tea to cool to room temperature.

Assembling the Bubble Tea:
1. Fill a glass with ice cubes.
2. Add the sweetened black tea to the glass, leaving some space at the top.
3. Pour in the milk.
4. Add the sweetened condensed milk for extra creaminess.
5. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.
6. Finally, top the bubble tea with your prepared tapioca pearls (boba).

Insert a wide straw, give it a good stir, and enjoy your homemade Classic Milk Bubble Tea! Adjust the sweetness and creaminess to your liking by adding more sugar or condensed milk if needed.
